Remote Learning with Teams Live Instruction

During a Remote Learning day, students will meet with their teachers via Microsoft Teams in the morning and will have assignments posted in Canvas to complete in the afternoon.

Teams Class schedules will depend on the type of remote learning day, Staff Professional Development or Inclement Weather. 
*NOTE: All schools will begin at 8:00am regardless of normal start times.*

Login Directions 

Login to Canvas FIRST 

 

Students will use one of the two methods to login to Canvas.

Through Clever:

• School Chromebook: Login to your Chromebook using your 500##### (ID number) and your password. Clever will open in a tab in Google Chrome. Click "Login with Google".
• School iPad: Tap the Clever app. Click “Login with Google”.
• Home Device: Go to www.clever.com/in/msdpike. Click "Login with Google". Make sure to sign in with the student Google account (500#####@students.pike.k12.in.us).

Once in Clever, click on the Canvas icon.

Directly:

• Go to pike.instructure.com, enter your 500##### (ID number) and your password.

THEN Login to Microsoft Teams

1. Select your class in Canvas, then click on the blue Microsoft Teams classes link in the left navigation bar.
    You may need to click the three lines in the top left corner by the class name to expand the navigation bar.

2. Click Sign In to sign in to Microsoft using your school email address (500#####@students.pike.k12.in.us) and password.

3. Find your class tile and click Open

4. In the dialog box, check the box to "Always allow teams.microsoft.com to open links" and then click Open Microsoft Teams. (This only needs to be done the first time signing in)
     If you are not redirected to Teams, click Use the web app instead.

5. Find the teacher's Remote Learning meeting and click Join.

     If prompted, Allow teams.microsoft.com to use the camera and microphone.

6. Check your camera and audio settings and then click Join now.

The teacher will let you in the meeting shortly.
